As an Early Years Practitioner or Childcare Worker, you’ll be a key player in shaping a safe and enriching environment for children during their crucial developmental years! 🌈 Your role involves facilitating growth, learning, and well-being through creative and age-appropriate activities. 🎨🧸

Must-Have Qualifications:

🎓 Early Years and Childcare qualifications at level 2 or equivalent

Job Role Includes:

People Management:

🤝 No direct supervisory responsibility, but you may assist in the induction and training of peers and new employees.

Resident & Community Contribution:

🏡 Demonstrate understanding of the Council’s Customer Care Standards to put residents first.

Operational Service Delivery:

👥 Work as part of a team, engaging with children and setting up age-appropriate activities.

🚸 Ensure all activities are safe with appropriate toys and equipment, backed by regular risk assessments.

🎉 Provide a stimulating learning environment inside and out to encourage play-based learning.

🔒 Maintain basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies, reporting concerns to the Nursery Manager.

🌍 Support a culturally sensitive service and raise awareness of child development needs among parents/carers.

👥 Signpost parents to key workers for support, including parenting skills and behavior management.

⚠️ Report health and safety hazards promptly, following accident and emergency procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

🍏 Assist in preparing healthy snacks and drinks for children.

👶 Support children with individual care needs, following center policies.

🧼 Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene for children, equipment, and the environment.

👕 Assist with laundry and cleaning duties as necessary.

🎯 Make suggestions for children’s planning and activities.

📈 Provide suggestions for areas of improvement, committed to continuous learning and growth.

🔄 Complete other reasonable tasks as required by management.
