Vijay Chandarana
Founder & CEO
Vijay has been working within Recruitment for over 18 years during which he founded Winlight Recruitment. Vijay has expanded the company from being a niche recruiter in Social Work to a leading Healthcare and Social Care agency working nationally with Local Authorities, NHS Trusts, Charities and Housing Associations. Vijay is extremely driven and motivated to build a business that will above all help make lives better for everyone we work with and the staff we employ. Vijay believes its possible to achieve anything you want with a good work ethic and consistency. On a personal note, he is very sports orientated and a big Liverpool fan. He has also climbed Kilimanjaro and jumped out of a plane!!
Laz Weerasinghe
Sales Director
Laz’s experience spans over a 23-year career working within Health & Social Care Recruitment, during this time he was worked with multiple start-ups. During this time he has also seen many changes and the evolution of the sector as well as the recruitment industry. His passion for working within recruitment has not diminished and having joined Winlight over 6 years ago he has worked to help shape the growth of the business and found this period to be one of the most exciting times of my career. But outside of work he has had some unique experiences such as being part of the set of a Bollywood Movie in 2015 playing 2 different characters and being listed on IMDB was the most memorable.
Vicki Bansal
Client Services Director
With over 20 years of experience in various Recruitment related fields both in the UK and overseas, Vicki brings a wealth of expertise to her role as the Client Services Director at Winlight. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with clients at Senior Management and Board levels, addressing staffing shortages and refining hiring processes. Vicki's approach is based on fostering partnerships rather than simply acting as a supplier, enabling her to offer clients comprehensive short and long-term staffing solutions. One of her unforgettable experiences is, whilst traveling through Australia she got caught in a riptide swimming in Bondi Beach as was rescued by a Baywatch lookalike lifeguard!
Sheron Samuels
Candidate Services Director
Sheron was one of the founding members of Winlight Recruitment and has over 15 years of experience of working within Health & Social Care. She is always keen to find out from her candidates what is it that they are looking to achieve in their career. She always tells her candidates that it’s important to have a roadmap on the path you want to have for your career, not everyone wants to be a manager and some Social Workers want to just focus on a speciality. Sheron believes that once you map out your career path you can change it whenever you want. Her moto is "A good recruiter won’t just find you your next job, we will help you to build your career", which is something she prides herself and the team at Winlight in doing. Outside of work she is Devoted Christian who dedicates her time in youth groups especially with young ladies with their self-esteem and self-confidence.
Kaz Rajani
Head of Social Care & Housing
Kaz has been working within Social Care Recruitment for over 8 years, over this time Kaz progressed to Head of Social Care with his high-octane energy and has managed to successfully win large nationwide contracts for his department. Kaz’s knowledge and understanding of his sector means that he is able to build scalable recruitment plans for both large and small social care providers. He also has an extreme passion for Cricket and has played minor county level over the last 10 years. An interesting fact about Kaz is that he used to collect Pokémon cards when he was a child but destroyed them all thinking it was not cool when he started secondary school... These would be worth £100’s of thousands of pounds today!
Armond Goci
Head of Qualified Social Work
Armond joined Winlight after graduating over 6 years ago. Armond’s rapid growth to the Head of Social Work has been down to strong work ethic and dedication to his candidates and now to his team. Armond is dedicated to bringing the right opportunities to individuals in the Qualified Social Work sector. An Interesting fact about Armond is that he has never been beaten at connect4 (the board game) since primary school till now. Also won the primary school tournament held for it whilst in year 4.
Matthew Baptiste
Compliance Manager
Matthew has 10 years’ experience in recruitment consisting of experience within Healthcare, Social Care, Education, MOD and AHP HSS. He began his recruitment journey as a compliance officer before becoming an auditor responsible for large scale framework audits. Outside of work Matthew has been heavily involved in athletics as a shot putter and discus thrower at National and International level. A fun fact about him is that he had poetry published whilst in primary school.

Head of Talent Acquisition
With over seven years of recruitment experience, Ria is deeply passionate about helping and nurturing future talent, empowering individuals to have fulfilling careers. She is fully invested in the vision of expanding Winlight Recruitment with a team of consultants that truly care. Ria firmly believes in finding joy and fulfilment in every aspect of life, and when she is not working, she cherishes spending quality time with her family and friends. Additionally, she nurtures her creative side through painting and indulges in writing and personal development pursuits.
