Job Description

Winlight Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality integrated day care and early education services for children aged from birth to 7 years. As an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements and fostering an inclusive and anti-discriminatory environment.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning and Delivery:

  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a high-quality early years curriculum, ensuring alignment with individual children’s needs and interests.
  • Execute daily, weekly, and termly planning to facilitate children’s development.

Child Development:

  • Foster children’s development in a secure, safe, and stimulating environment, adhering to good practice curriculum guidance.
  • Conduct assessments, observations, and maintain developmental records to monitor each child’s progress.

Key Worker Support:

  • Support colleagues in their roles as key workers for specific groups of children.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions for children from home to the center and from the center to school.

Behavior Management:

  • Effectively manage children’s behavior in accordance with procedural guidance.
  • Implement planned interventions for children with additional needs.

Physical Care:

  • Provide appropriate physical care, including washing, toileting, changing, feeding, dressing, comforting, and administering medication.
  • Assist children in acquiring and developing self-help skills, including toileting and personal hygiene.

Child Protection and Safety:

  • Adhere to Child Protection procedures and promptly report any matters of concern to the center managers.
  • Assist in organizing outings for educational purposes, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.

Mobility Assistance and First Aid:

  • Lift and assist in toileting, changing, and mobility aid transfer as required.
  • Implement individual movement programs under the guidance of professionals.
  • Provide first aid, comfort sick or injured children, and liaise with designated first-aiders and medical professionals in emergency situations.
  • Accompany children to hospitals or doctors as necessary, with proper training in basic medical procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience in planning and delivering early years curriculum.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and anti-discriminatory practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage children’s behavior effectively.
  • First aid certification or willingness to undergo training.
