Job Description
Flexible Working: Since COVID-19 the service have implemented a flexible working approach. Social workers will be expected to visit their children and families face to face however social workers are not required to come to the office and are able to currently work from home.
Caseloads: Between 15 – 20
Expenses: Locums are able to claim back mileage from their place of work to visits (this does not include travel from home to work). The service also have work oyster cards that can be provided.
About the Role and Team:
The Safeguarding & Care Planning Service (East & West) work with children & families following transfer from the Referral & Assessment Service, which occurs if a child/young person is made subject to a Child in Need or Child Protection Plan. Children in Need qualify if they meet through assessment Tier 2.5-3 on the Bromley Safeguarding Continuum of Need and Intervention. The service have a specialist Court Team but at times East and West practitioners will also hold care proceeding cases and work with children & families where the PLO framework has been initiated .
All decisions to initiate care proceedings or PLO are made through a weekly Legal Gateway meeting chaired by a Safeguarding Head of Service.
